ድልድይ
ድልድይ፣ ስሙ እንደሚያመለክተው ሰዎችን፣ ቦታዎችን፣ ማህበረሰቦችን እና ባህሎችን ያገናኛል። የጋራ ጥቅሞችን በመጠበቅ፣ በሕዝቦችና በተለያዩ ማኅበረሰቦች መካከል አብሮነትን በመገንባት የጋራ መግባባትና ትብብር እንዲኖር ያስችላል። በተመሳሳይ ፎረሙ የተለያዩ የፖለቲካ፣ ኢኮኖሚያዊና መኅበራዊ አመለካከቶች መሃል ውይይት እንዲካሄድ የሚያበረታታና የሚያስተናግድ መድረክ በመሆኑ ድልድይ የፎረሙ አርማ እና መለያ ልዩ ምልክት እንዲሆን ተደረገ።
ኢትዮጵያ የፈረመችው የተባበሩት መንግሥታት የሰብአዊ መብቶች ድንጋጌ በዓለም አቀፍ ደረጃ ተፈጻሚ የሚሆኑና ሁሉም ሰው ሊጠቀምባቸው የሚችሉ መሠረታዊ መብቶችን ይደነግጋል። የማንኛውንም ሰው መብቶችና ነጻነቶች እኩል በአንድ ሚዛን ላይ በማስቀመጥ በብሄር፣ በመኖሪያ ቦታ፣ በፆታ፣ በቀለም፣ በሃይማኖት፣ በቋንቋ ልዩነት ሳያደርግ ሰዎች በተፈጥሮአቸው እኩል መብትና አኩል ክብር እንዳላቸው፣ የሰው ነጻነቶች በባህሪያቸው ዓለም አቀፋዊና የማይገሰሱ መሆናቸውን በግልጽ ይደነግጋል። በሌላ በኩል፣ በዛሬዪቱ ኢትዮጵያ መሠረታዊ የሲቪል እና የሰብአዊ መብት ጥሰቶች እየተስፋፉ በመምጣታቸው ለብዙ ዓመታት በጋራ በመኖር የጋራ እሴቶችን ያዳበሩ ማኅበረሰቦች አብሮነትና ሰላማዊ ኑሮ አደጋ ላይ ወድቋል።
ድልድይ፣ ዜጎች ከማናቸውም አይነት ጥቃት ነጻ በሆነ፣ የሕግ የበላይነት በሚከበርበት፣ ችግሮች በጉልበት ሳይሆን በውይይት በሚፈቱበት፣ በሴቶች ላይ ከሚፈጸም ጥቃት ነጻ በሆነ፣ ባለሥልጣኖች ተጠያቂ በሆኑበት፣ ሕዝብ ተኮር ዘላቂ ልማት በሚተገበርበት አገር የመኖር ህልማቸው እውን እንዲሆን ለማገዝ የሚንቀሳቀስ ድርጅት ነው።
በመሆኑም፣ ድልድይ፣ አሳሳቢ በሆኑት የብሔር፣ የቋንቋ፣ የሃይማኖት፣ የባህል፣ የሰብአዊ መብት፣ የዴሞክራሲ፣ የኢኢኮኖሚ እና የመንግሥት አወቃቀር በመሳሰሉ አገራዊ ጉዳዮች ላይ ነጻ፣ ፍትሃዊ፣ መደማመጥ የሰፈነበት የሰከነ ውይይት የሚካሄድበት መድረክ ነው።
Dildiy
Dildiy is an Amharic word, which means bridge. A bridge connects people, places, communities, and cultures, as its name suggests. It enables mutual understanding and cooperation in defending common interests, building solidarity and togetherness among people and communities from different backgrounds. Hence, the adoption of the name Dildiy as the Forum’s logo and trade mark.
In contemporary Ethiopia, fundamental civil and human rights violations have become so prevalent as to threaten the peaceful coexistence of communities who have developed shared values through long years of living together.
The UN Declaration of Human Rights, to which Ethiopia is signatory, articulates fundamental rights, which are universally applicable and intended to be enjoyed by all persons. They are universal because all human beings are born with and possess the same rights, regardless of who they are, where they live, their gender or race, or their religious, cultural or ethnic background. The right of individuals is inalienable because they cannot be taken away.
Through its activities, Dildiy’s objective is to contribute to the dream of Ethiopians to live in a country free of violence where their fundamental rights are respected, where the rule of law and democratic dialogue prevail in seeking solutions to people’s concerns, where violence against women becomes history, where accountability matters and where people-focused sustainable development is designed to improve the livelihood of all.
Dildiy is a platform where free, fair, mature and tolerant civil discussion can be conducted on the most pressing issues of the day such as ethnicity, language, religion, culture, human rights, democracy, the economy and governmental structure.
